Van Life - Product Review - Outwell Deep Cool 28l cooler box compressor

We have had this cooler for a few years now and we absolutely love it.

I built a draw unit to house the cooler in our kitchen unit, that allowed us to pull it out and access it all the time.

The cooler it self holds enough fresh food to last us (a family of 4) 3-4 days if we pack it well and remove any unnecessary packaging.

The cooler runs off mains when we are on hook up and our solar, it draws very little power and we have had no issues with it draining our batteries in the night. This cooler is very quiet and doesn't disturb our sleep when the fan kicks in.

It is a top openner and releases at both the front and the back, making it super easy to access your food and to clean it out.

In side the main section is a wire basket which lifts out of the cooler. This wire basket retains your food and stops it touching the sides of your cooler. There is an internal light so you can see inside the cooler at night, so you don't have to disturb the kids by switching a light on while you grab the milk for a brew when they are still asleep!

You are able to set the temperature to what you want (-18 to +10 degress C), so that you can keep everything cool no matter the weather. There are handles on the sides so it is easy to lift in and out of the draw, so we are able to take it out of the van and use it anywhere.

Overall we give the Outwell Deep Cool 28l cooler box a 5 mini surfboards out of 5.

There is nothing we don't like about this product, it has fitted into our van setup really well and we have had no issues with it.

If you are interested in ordering one of theses coolers we have this model and the 50L model listed in our new #vanlife section of our website along with other products that we have tested in our van.

Thanks for reading this review and we look forward to sharing our next review on the solar setup we have in the van.
